INTENTIONAL BLINDNESS

 2021   I   mixed media, salt   I   163,5 x 76 x 36 cm

My work Intentional Blindness presents in a diorama scene a simple encounter during a winter dog walk, in which a walker meets a janitor salting the sidewalk.

The work deals with intentional blindness, our daily individual choices, and their consequences for the individual and the community; all of which, in given cases and seen from a distance, can be translated into the theme of the depreciation of our built and natural environment.

The title of my artwork was inspired by Father Feri Pál’s series of lectures of the same title on our conscious and unconscious blindness in all areas of our lives.
